Charlotte's Web

We have always loved the book Charlotte's Web , as I am sure that all of you do too. The story is so sweet and shows true love and friendship. Last night we were reading it and we got to the part where Charlotte died. It touched me so much that I began to cry (yes, I am truly a mom, I cry at everything). I have read it before, but I guess I just forget that she died all alone. I love that there are so many books that children can read that help them to be better people. Charlotte loved Wilbur and did not care that she gave everything to help him. It was just what friends do. We are grateful for all our friends and all they do to help us. You are all Charlotte to us.

I'm trying to be like Jesus

So here is the background to this story. We tell the kids all the time that good feelings and actions come from Jesus and bad choices come from Satan. Last night nobody wanted to go to bed and I was frustrated. As I was coming back from Cecilia and Frankie's room ( all the kids' rooms are on the one end of the house) Luke was coming from our room. So I yelled "GET IN BED NOW!" Tears came to his eyes and he says "I was putting away your pillow for you." BAD MOMMY!!! I start apologizing to him and tell him that he was being like Jesus and he replies back, "You weren't being like Jesus, you were being like Satan!" Ok so it's official.. I am the devil. I felt terrible and now Luke can get anything he wants.

Shaggy dog

Our dog is named Butterscotch and he has been a member of the family since 2000. Like a member of the family he has needs and things he needs to have done..like a haircut. He is in DESPERATE need of one and I hate taking him. He is a nervous dog and nips at the barber when his feet are touched and he is just an angry old dog. Frankly I wish that he would go to doggy heaven. Louie says that I will be sad when he dies.And I probably will.. so sad that I will have to drown my sorrows at Target. Anyway with the weather maybe getting warmer, I know that I will have to take him in.He better not drop died afterward...but knowing my luck...oh well, he'll look nice in heaven!

Here's a shout out to a sweetheart of mine...Lisa thank you.We now have a cute blog again! So tonight we are going out with some friends of ours, the Whitings. We don't normally celebrate Valentine's day because our anniversary is the next week, but we can celebrate Friday the 13th... no chains saws involved. So we are going to Moapa to a cute little diner there. Hope everyone remembers their sweethearts tomorrow.

I'm trying to change...

Something weird happened today and I deleted our old blog and had to start over and now I can't seem to get the layouts for cutestblogontheblock up...any help would be appreciated...
