Update

Wow! Life and time have been going by fast. Here is an update on our life and times:
Louie- work and more work! He had to work 14 days in a row and has been very busy. He has had some pain in his right leg and so at his 6 month check he was told that the left leg is looking great but it is time to get an MRI for the right one and then see if things need to be taken care of... He continues to have a great outlook and hopes that after this next surgery that he can get back to feeling great again.
Andrea- I have tried to take over Lin's...but for now I have three vendor jobs there. It has been a blessing to have even one job. I also have applied at another place and hope that maybe that will work out too. The kids keep me busy and life is just moving along.
Isabella- getting ready for 8th grade to be done so that high school can begin. She is doing fantastic in piano and is doing great in school. She loves being a normal 13 year old and hangs out with her friends.
Cecilia- She made the cheer squad is so very excited! She got her uniform and is ready to begin practices. She also is in another cheer group, but will have to give that up:( She continues to have strong opinions...
Francesca- She is getting ready to go to cheer competition in Mesquite and is loving it. She is a great student and enjoying reading the Harry Potter series with mom. She loves helping other and hanging with her BFF's Alyssa, Addison and Ashlyn.
Luke- says school is boring but is doing great at it. He has discovered that he loves to read and the Magic Tree House books are his favorite. His new chore around the house is taking out the garbage. He has recruited help...aka Mattea.
Mattea- still the youngest and wildest! She has been going to preschool but is ready for kindergarten! She gets to go to Kindergarten round up in a few weeks and shes knows that she will be getting shots and says " I know they will hurt, but I just have to deal with it." She has quite the personality.
So that's life here at Wahl Manor. We are very thankful for all the blessings we have been given
and hope that we continue to be good.

Cheer tryouts and snow in Overton

Yet another child is going to be in middle school and so she decided that she wanted to try out for cheerleader. I was a little worried that she might not be ready, but I was proven wrong. They were so impressed with her. One coach said that she just lit up and that she was darling. Which if you know Cecilia that is funny because this was the child that never wanted to smile. Anyway the day of the final tryout came and she made it! She is going to be a flyer, which makes me a little nervous but I will just always have a prayer in my heart when she cheers. So now cut to this last weekend...the fair was once again in town and we went on Friday, and Saturday it snowed! It was quite weird to see the old white stuff on our car and on the ground. It only lasted fora few minutes, but the girls decided that they needed to save some in our freezer. So it's official, hell really did freeze over....

Happy Birthday Daddy!

39 years ago the world experienced a real change. From a small mining community, rose a giant among men...(doesn't that sound like a great beginning to a story about a superhero?) Well, here's our superhero.Who's the man that fixes things around the house (eventually)...DADDY! Who gives the best hugs? DADDY! Who has the power to smell up a room in a hurry? DADDY!!! Who drives 40 miles a day to work for 8 hours or more then drive another 40 miles to come home and then walk around the house to make sure all the doors are locked, covers are on children? DADDY!! WE all love this wonderful man. He is always making sure that we all happy. He works so hard at his job. He loves the Lord and wants other to know it. He is kind to others, that maybe others would not be nice to. He is very funny and wants to make you laugh. He loves to read the National Enquirer. Every time we are at the check out he flips through it. He can talk car like no other. He loves old school heavy metal and laughs when he sees kid wearing "old" concert tee shirts, because he actually remembers the concerts. He can watch the History channel. every. day.We are grateful that he is ours. Happy Birthday to you!

Mattea is 5!

What a face!

March 6th at 11:38p Mattea Hazel Wahl turns 5. Wow! My water broke early that morning, and so we thought that baby #5 would means that things would move right along, but nope! She decided to hang out a little longer. With the attitude that I could do this without any drugs, which I did, she was born at a healthy 8lbs. 8oz. Her sisters and brother were so excited for her to join our family. She brings so much joy and happiness to our lives. She has plenty of one liners... and we sometimes question if she really is only just 5. Daddy calls her angel princess, Bella calls her Matteazel, Cecilia calls her tiny, but we mostly love that we can call her ours.
Happy Birthday to Mattea Hazel Wahl!

I want to be a missionary now...

Elders Cunha and Aaron have been here in the valley for a while and our family just loves them. They came over the other night and taught us about the Armor of God. They are so fun and the kids just loved what they did. They made the armor and also let the kids throw darts at them...not real darts, they were the Styrofoam type.(We're not that violent) They all got to try on the armor and here is the pictures.

Steak

I guess this should be obvious since Louie is, after all, a meat cutter, but the kids are obsessed with steak. We made out a meal plan and once a week the kids get to choose for their night a meal that they like. ( For those of you that don't know they have one day a week they have as their day and they get to eat off the blue plate. ) Well, every week on of them, if not more wants steak for their dinner. They just love steak. Louie think this is great of course and gets things at work that he knows will be good. I had to tell them that only one person that can choose steak for their dinner per week. ( I have also had to do this for mac and cheese as well, or that would be every night.) So tonight we have steak. Louie loves to season and marinate and we all just sit back, chew and enjoy. I guess I should share a recipe but he just finds different seasonings and herbs that he likes and mixes them together and voila! tender meat! I haven't made up the menu for next week, but it might just have steak on it!

Happy #11 to Cecilia!

Happy Birthday to Cecilia Marianna! She was a born at 10:25 a. She had SOOOO much hair. When I was pregnant with her I always had heartburn! (They say that when that happens your baby will have hair). She was 5 days early and weighed 9 lbs. 6 oz.She came out SCREAMING! She was never happy to tak ea picture, but when she decided something, you better be ready. She didn't crawl until she was 9 months old. I think she didn't see the point, her older sister just got her everything. Fun story about Cecilia. When she was maybe a year, we decided to go somewhere and we took Bella and Cecilia. We gave them each some chocolate milk to drink for the car ride. Cecilia immediately drank hers in record time, threw her cup on the ground of the car, turned to Bella and said(while waving her hand back and forth) "Bella, gimme gimme". The little stinker was demanding Bella give her her milk. So what does Bella do...GIVES IT TO HER!! I told Bella she didn't have to, but Bella knew that Cecilia wanted it and so she made her sister happy.Cecilia a great person. We are so grateful that God gave her to us. She is very loving and thoughtful. She has a very tender heart and is willing to take charge. We love you!

New things for the New year

Great things are going to happen this year! We can feel it. We have some family goals and personal goals that can be done this year. We have a lot of hope and faith that great things will happen! Louie continues to get better, I continue to get better, the kids continue to teach and help us grow. Life is at a bliss state. I say that because I can't hope for more then what has been given. Last year at this time, life was bleak. Now, life feels blessed. We are grateful for that feeling. We hope your new year is great too!
