New Job and More Tryouts

A few weeks ago one of Louie's bosses came to me and said that Coca Cola was looking for a merchandiser to work the Overton store. They had a guy coming from Mesquite to come out here just to service the store and so he asked if I would like a job that I would get to work only 2-3 hours a day and then be done! YES! Anyway I got he job and I started last week. It is a lot of lifting and sorting stuff. I put all the Coke products out...(PLUG)...smart water, ALL Coke products, vitamin water and Dasani water. So to all my Overton friends...let me know if you want anything and I can see if I can get it. It has been really great so far. I love the physical aspect of it. My back is sore, but I love that I can go in and fill the stuff and be done. I listen to my music and that is it! Plus I have decided then since getting this job that I will no longer be babysitting. Which I am happy about...(no offense intended) but I am hoping this might lead to opportunities more eventually.
Also this week we are once again in tryout mode. Isabella is trying out for the dance company and we are a little more relaxed and calm then we were for the cheer tryouts. She also was inducted into the BETA club and is going to be the historian for it! She will get to take pics and keep a scrapbook for the club. Cecilia and Francesca are preparing for the May Day dance...which don't ask me what the heck it is ...but it is a BIG thing here and so they are really excited for it...pics to come soon!

Thanks to my great brothers we have a Wii. So this is the new thing that Luke LOVES to do! Dad and Luke can spend quite a bit of time playing this game. They have even learned how to morph the characters....A different head on a different body. They will discuss strategy and the know all the characters and lingo. They are really cute to watch.

The Cell Phone Issue

Yesterday we went to the fair and had a great day. The weather was nice, we ate and rode all the rides dozens of times.(Pictures to come) Isabella went early with her friend Jenni and we came up later. Well, she does not have cell phone and so we didn't find her right away, but her friend did and anyway the fair ground are big, but after a little hunting and her using her friend's phone we found her. The whole day though she kept saying..."Well if I had a cellphone..." meaning of course that she would of course be at our beck and call and that she would of course check in and that she should have one so that she could contact us. See, we are of the caveman belief that a 12 year old doesn't need nor deserve a cellphone. But apparently all of her other friends have one. We keep telling her that if she need one then she can BORROW one of ours. Anyway...is this a new right?( the answer is NO!!!)You have the right to have a roof, you have the right to have clothes... you have the right for your parents not to be driven insane whenever the cell phone is brought up...well maybe not. Anyway, I am just curious if anyone else thinks that this a new necessity for a teenager. Or are they making it seem like it is....let me know. For now we have said that no phone until you are 18 and then you can spend your own money on one.

The Good News Is...

Well, cheer tryouts were this week and it was a no-go...the good news is that she has been asked to try out for the BETA club which is part of the Junior National Honor Society. She has interviews on the 16th and then we should know soon after. This next week is Spring Break and the fair is here in town so nothing says get over your worries like FUNNEL CAKE! We are so proud of Isabella and our friend's daughter Makenna. They gave it there all and they need to be proud of all they did!
